The NSW Government has announced two walking and cycling projects in Lane Cove will be funded in their Get NSW Active Program. Lane Cove Council will receive $156,000 to design a wider Shared Path along the southern side of Mowbray Road between Centennial Avenue and Ralston Street to connect to the Pacific Highway cycleway, and $85,000 for the installation of a raised pedestrian crossing with a bike path and associated lighting on Lloyd Rees Drive at Blackman Park.

Willoughby Council will also receive $1 Million to design a bike path along Hampden Road and Herbert Street to connect Chatswood, Artarmon, and St Leonards. The project will deliver a two way separated cycleway and shared paths supported by new and modified intersections including traffic control signals and landscaping improvements. You can learn more about the project here.

Unfortunately there was no funding announcements for other Better Streets priority projects such as the River Road shared path, the Longueville Road bike path, or the Burns Bay Road shared path and bike path.
